Job description

The Technical Program Manager, Cyber Security at Zscaler is responsible for leading security projects related to product efficacy, driving 3rd party test engagements, and coordinating cross-functional teams to improve security product features and threat research. They need strong project management skills and in-depth knowledge of cyber threat landscapes.

Responsibility

• Lead security projects related to product efficacy: Manage end-to-end security efficacy/detection specific projects, from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to project goals, timelines, and budget
• 3rd party test engagements: Engage with various 3rd party test agencies and drive Zscaler products’ evaluation from security effective perspective
• Drive cross-functional and effective communications throughout the program lifecycle, providing the visibility and transparency required to ensure cross-functional team and stakeholder alignment
• Project Planning and Execution: Develop project plans, define project scope, create timelines, allocate resources, and monitor project progress to ensure successful delivery
• Threat Research: Keep track with the changing trends in cyber-attacks in general and products / technologies /features to protect against them, stay updated on the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices through continuous threat research and analysis
• Cross functional collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Development, product QA, Product Management, Operations, IT etc to ensure prioritization of security efficacy specific initiatives, features, enhancements etc
• Customer engagements: Engage with customers for security effectiveness of product efficacy, provide guidance and receive feedback
• Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate project status, risks, and mitigation strategies to stakeholders and senior management
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and post-implementation reviews

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
• Proven experience as a Technical Program Manager or similar role, with a strong background in managing and delivering cyber security specific projects
• In-depth knowledge of threat research methodologies, security frameworks, and industry best practices
• Excellent project management skills, including the ability to create project plans, manage timelines, allocate resources, and monitor project progress
• Strong understanding of market for Cyber-Security products, technologies like NGFW, IPS, Anti-Virus, Sandbox, WAAP, XDR etc
• Strong understanding of security risk assessment and mitigation strategies
• Strong understanding industry standard tools, attack simulating frameworks used to evaluate cyber security products like NGFW, IPS, Sandbox, WAAP etc
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Relevant certifications such as PMP, CISSP, or CISM are highly desirable
• Good to have past experience working in cyber security research domain
• Good understanding of network/sandbox evasions and anti-analysis techniques
• Good to have exposure in closely working with 3rd party test agencies for evaluation of Cyber Security products
